Smart shopping list

A list that writes itself from what you really buy

Instead of starting from a blank page, the list learns from your own purchase history and your pantry, and suggests what you are likely to need next.

  • Learns from your receipts. Things you buy again and again, such as milk or eggs, are noticed from the statistics of your own purchases.
  • Knows when you are due. Items you have not restocked for about two weeks are suggested, with the date and price of your last purchase.
  • Watches your pantry. Set a minimum amount per item and get a restock alert when you fall below it.
  • Shows the price first. Each item carries what you paid last time and where the same product costs less today.
  • Tick it off. Mark an item as bought and the pantry updates with the quantity, price and store.

Compare before you pay

Search any product and see its price in every store we follow, side by side. Prices are refreshed daily.

  • Same product, matched. The same item is recognised across stores by its barcode and name, and doubtful matches are flagged instead of hidden.
  • Honest about stock. When a store stops listing a product, it is marked “no longer listed” with the last price we saw and the date, and it never counts as the cheapest.
  • Current promotions. Discounts, points and cashback from cards and stores, filtered by day and category.
  • Compare your basket. Put your whole list through and see which store is cheapest for it overall.

Discounts for the cards you already use

Banks and card programmes publish new offers all the time. They are collected once a day in one place, so you do not have to visit a dozen pages.

  • Filter the way you shop. By bank, card, category (restaurants, health, supermarkets, travel, clothing and more), type (discount, points, cashback) and day of the week, including “today”.
  • Clear dates. Each offer shows the days it applies and when it ends, and offers that are about to end are highlighted.
  • Coupons too. Restaurant coupons that you buy in advance show the price, the regular price, the percentage saved and both the buy-by and redeem-by dates.
  • Always with its source. Every offer links to the page where it was published, so you can check the details before you go.

Pantry, receipts and your phone

Keep track of what is at home and let receipts do the typing.

Pantry

What you have, how much, and a low-stock alert so you restock before you run out.

Receipt photos

Add a photo of a receipt and the items, prices and store are read into your expenses and pantry.

Send it from your phone

Optionally link your phone number and send a receipt photo from your messaging app; it is saved to your account only.

Private by design

Every account is separate. Nobody else, including other users, can see your expenses or your connection.

Optional: receipts from Gmail

You stay in control at every step.

You connect

Press Connect Gmail in Settings and approve Google's consent screen. Nothing is read before that.

Only your senders

Mail from the senders on your list, such as your bank or utility company, is read. Everything else is ignored and not stored.

An expense is saved

The amount, merchant and date become an expense in your account, and the email is marked as read.

About the Gmail permission

We use it only to read emails from the senders on your list and to mark them as read after they are saved as an expense. We never send email, delete email, or read emails from other senders. You can disconnect at any time in Settings, or revoke access in your Google Account.

Colato Finance's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
